Description

Drill bit sharpener · angle grinder attachment

Razor-sharp drill bits in seconds, on the grinder you already own.

Clip this sharpening guide onto your angle grinder and every dull twist bit in your toolbox goes back to work. Rest the bit in the notch or hole for its size and the guide holds the tip at a set angle against the disc, so you grind a fresh edge in seconds instead of guessing by eye or buying new.

Choose the version for your grinder in the box above: the yellow bracket for 4 in (100 mm) grinders, or the orange ring for 5 in (125 mm) grinders.

How it works

A fixed angle, a fresh edge, every time

A twist bit cuts best when both lips are ground to the same angle. Freehand on a grinder, that angle wanders. The attachment fixes it: the bracket or ring sits over the disc, and each slot is cut so a bit of that size meets the disc edge at the right angle. Touch the bit to the disc, turn it, and repeat on the other lip.

The 4 in version is a half-moon bracket with six stepped notches for 4, 5, 6, 8, 10 and 12 mm bits. The 5 in version is a ring with a circle of holes from 2 to 13 mm. Both are plastic bodies with metal fixings, and the grinding itself is done by the disc already on your grinder, so you get a sharpening station without buying a sharpening machine.

Why it pays for itself

Sharper bits, smaller hardware bill

Savings

Keep the bits you own

A good set of replacement bits adds up fast. Sharpen the ones already in your case and put the money toward the next project.

Seconds

A short grind per lip

Rest the tip in its slot, give it a short grind, turn the bit half a turn and grind the other lip. A bit takes seconds.

Matched

Same angle on both lips

The slot sets the angle, so a steady hand is all it takes to bring a dull bit back to a clean, even point.

First use

Fit, feed, turn

Fit it

Unplug the grinder. Fasten the bracket over the disc with its two bolts, or clamp the ring around the guard with its thumbscrews, and check that it sits solid.

Feed the bit

Start the grinder, then rest the tip of the bit in the slot for its size until it just touches the disc. Light pressure is all it needs.

Turn and repeat

Give the bit a short grind, rotate it half a turn and grind the other lip the same way. Check that both lips look even and you are ready to drill.
