How it works
The bearing follows the template.
Each end of a template has two short raised lips that butt against the two edges of your board, so the curve sits square on the corner without measuring.
Put the template on top of the workpiece, then rout with your bearing-guided flush-trim or pattern bit. The bearing rolls along the template's curved edge and the cutter copies it into the wood, giving you a clean curve every time.
