The Story Behind the Design

Designed by Meriem Chrrouhi, founder of Tigemi, this pillow is part of her ongoing dialogue between Amazigh ancestral symbolism and contemporary interior architecture.

Each cushion is plotted by hand before tufting begins, then slowly brought to life by artisans in Marrakech. The result is a piece that feels both rooted and modern — graphic in form, soft in texture, and timeless in tone.

The Cooperative

This cushion is made by a small women’s artisan cooperative on the outskirts of Marrakech. A single piece takes approximately 14 to 18 hours of handwork, including weaving the cotton base, tufting the wool loops, shaping the raised relief, and tying the tassels by hand.

Each purchase helps support fair daily wages and the preservation of traditional Moroccan textile craft.

Limited Edition & Made-to-Order

This is a limited release. Only 2 pieces from this run are currently available.

Once sold, additional pieces may be commissioned as made-to-order with a 4–6 week production time. Each made-to-order cushion is hand-tufted from scratch by the same cooperative, so slight variations in motif placement, tufting density, tassel shape, and tone are natural.

Place it on a bouclé sofa, a leather Chesterfield, or a linen daybed for a warm, grounded accent.

It works beautifully with warm minimalism, desert modern interiors, Santa Fe-inspired rooms, Belgian neutrals, raw plaster walls, cane chairs, vintage rugs, aged leather, and natural wood.

Care

Spot clean gently with a soft white cloth and cool water, or use a professional dry cleaner familiar with handmade textiles. Keep out of prolonged direct sunlight to help preserve the natural depth of the chocolate and ivory wool. Fluff tassels gently by hand.

Do not machine wash, bleach, tumble dry, or iron directly over the tufting.

A Note on Authenticity

Because each pillow is hand-loomed, hand-tufted, and hand-finished, slight variations in motif placement, tufting height, tassel length, bead grain, and color tone are natural. These are not flaws — they are the marks of authentic handmade craftsmanship.
