Hand-held sanding drum for your drill
A spindle sander you hold in two hands.
Chuck the hex shank in any drill, hold the red handle with your other hand, and run the sleeve along curves, edges, bores and cut-outs. Two rubber drums, ten 120-grit sleeves, the hardware and a wrench are in the box.
How it works
Your drill spins it. The handle steers it.
The handle turns on bearings, so it stays still in your hand while the drum spins. Slide a sleeve over the rubber drum, tighten the nut against the washers, and the rubber expands to grip the sleeve. Loosen the nut to swap a worn sleeve or change drum size.
Where it earns its place
Curves a sanding block cannot reach.
Chair seats and arms, the inside of a hole or cut-out, a bowl’s inner wall, a rounded table edge, a rusted pipe. Use the large drum for open curves and the small drum where the radius is tight. It sands and smooths; it is not a polisher.
Drum sizes
Large 4-1/2 x 1-1/2 in and small 4-1/2 x 1 in. Both use the same shaft and handle.
Sleeves, 120 grit
Five for each drum, aluminium oxide. 120 grit is a medium finishing grit; the kit ships this one grit only.
Drill
The hex quick-connect shank fits a standard drill chuck, corded or cordless.
