Hang the battery box
Hook it on the top of the overflow pipe, above the water.
Fit the flush unit
Seat it on top of the flush valve and plug its lead into the battery box.

Stick it on the wall, the lid or the side of the bowl, then step up and away to test it.

The sensor works without a cable to the tank, so you can put it where it will see you: on the wall above the tank, on the underside of the toilet lid, or low on the side of the bowl. It picks up motion up to about 20 in (50 cm) away, then flushes after you step away.
